Design & Innovation Management
The Challenge
SAP wanted to showcase their new innovative systems and also tackle a key global challenge of our time: single-use plastic pollution.
The Approach
We conducted original ethnographic research, followed by a three-day Design Sprint involving innovation leaders from 15 multinational companies.
The Impact
SAP presented the best ideas at its global conference and is working with the UK Plastics Pact to develop and bring the new concepts to market. The Plastics Cloud was presented at the 2018 London Design Festival.
Leadership & Coaching
The Challenge
Cartier New Bond Street was undertaking an ambitious retail transformation strategy and asked DK&A to help them co-create a change-management process, onboarding their staff to the new store.
The Approach
We ran 4 Design Thinking workshops with Cartier employees to co-create and co-curate their own guide to what Cartier NBS would be – making them part of the process.
The Impact
The end result was a physical induction tool, made up of a booklet and card deck and Cartier tea, embodying the new brand experience. It was created by the boutique team, based around the boutique’s history, onboarding them into the new store in the process.
Design Sprint Track
The Challenge
For two years HS2 Ltd had struggled with the problem of gatelines in train stations and what role they would play in the future of rail travel. They challenged us to accelerate the process and find tangible, innovative solutions to what gatelines would be in 2026.
The Approach
We ran in-depth ethnographic research before hosting a ran a 3-day Design Sprint with 29 stakeholders.
The Impact
We brought everything together to create a fully formed concept pitch for the future of HS2 rail stations, all within six months, which now is forming the basis for HS2 future gatelines.
It’s really inspiring. I have never seen anything like this before in the workplace.
The results went beyond my initial expectations, and the learnings were immediate and can be applied very quickly. Incredibly engaging, thought provoking and insightful.
DK&A run an awesome Design Thinking course. It's not anything that I’ve experienced before and makes you think in ways you wouldn’t in an office environment. It is also fun and interactive.
The Sprint process is a really quick way of getting to an outcome. You feel you are part of it, others feel they are part of it. It’s creation together. There’s something tangible at the end. That’s the beauty of it.
